Position Description

The Embedded Software Engineer Contractor will be responsible to develop microcontroller based control systems along with the software / firmware that drives the circuits. The position requires analytical and communication skills to implement a design based on internal requirements and customer direction. This position is targeted for 5 months or more.

Position Requirements

• Code skills in both assembler and C languages.
• Electronic design and programming of uP/PIC control platforms.
• Responsible for electronic product and system debugging.
• Ability to develop and execute test plans.
• Development of engineering and product documentation.
• Customer interaction from product feasibility and requirements through full customer acceptance; resulting in product release.
• Provide input to development schedules.
• Lead and direct the work of technicians.

Skill & Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent combination of education and technical experience.
• Experience working as an engineer in the development of electronic controls utilizing PIC microcontrollers.
• Experience in developing real time control code in C (PIC assembly knowledge a plus).
• Knowledgeable in CAN-bus based designs a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to debug electronics utilizing electronic test equipment.
• Ability to work both independently or on a team.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.
• Ability to work professionally with external customers.
• Ability to multi-task many projects
• Ability to work with mechanical systems is a strong plus.
• U.S. Citizenship or active green card status is required.
